2013 Children’s Day at Wing 21

Below are some pictures and video from Children’s Day earlier this week (aka wan dek or วันเด็ก) at the Ubon Ratchathani Air Force Base (aka Wing 21 or กองบิน 21). I’m not sure who was having more fun, my son or myself. It doesn’t matter how old I get, I absolutely love flying and to be this close to jets and watch my son enjoy it too was a lot of fun. Perhaps I should have joined the United States Air Force although I think my LASIK would probably keep me grounded.

This is the most people I’ve ever seen at an event in Ubon. It felt bigger than Songkran, at least in terms of the number of people in one place.  If you go to one of these in the future, make sure to go early in the morning when it first opens which was 8:30 this year. That’s when they do the most flyovers, there’s less people and it’s not as hot.
